At
least 13 people were killed after a freight train
carrying gas jumped the tracks and crashed into homes,
causing an inferno in the middle of the night.
Most of
the victims, who included three children, were killed
after buildings beside the track collapsed. But others
were burned alive as flames enveloped cars and passers
by.
TV
footage showed residents in pyjamas tearing at rubble,
screaming the names of their loved ones.
One man
is said to have jumped off the roof of a burning
building holding his eight-year-old son, while others
were seen running down the street in flames.
Another
man's burned body was found in the seat of his car,
hands on the wheel waiting for traffic lights to change
