FP 3% Plus
Description
Fomtec FP 3% Plus is a superior quality fluoroprotein
foam concentrate containing fluorinated surfactants in a
carefully formulated protein foam liquid base. This
ensures the production of a well stabilised fluid foam
which will cover a burning hydrocarbon fuel surface
rapidly.
Once the fire extinction has been achieved the high
stability of the foam blanket ensures against the risk
of re-ignition and provides excellent protection against
burn back should any inaccessible pockets of fire
remain.
Fomtec FP 3% Plus is a powerful foam agent for the
protection of hydrocarbon fuel including regular
gasoline, unleaded gasoline containing up to 20% MTBE
and pure MTBE.
Fomtec FP 3% Plus should be used at 3% proportioned
solution (3 part concentrate in 97 parts of water) in
fresh or seawater.
Application
Large storage tank fires are the most difficult
flammable liquid fires to control, extinguish and keep
extinguished. Fomtec FP 3% Plus is intended for use on
class B hydrocarbon fuel fires such as oil, diesel and
aviation fuels. Fomtec FP 3% Plus can be applied
directly onto the fire surface and is also suitable for
sub surface injection. It is compatible with all dry
chemical powders and can be used in powder/foam twin
agent systems. Fire Performance & Foaming The fire
performance of Fomtec FP 3% Plus is measured against
standards such as Under writers Laboratories Standard UL
162, LASTFIRE Test and United Kingdom Ministry of
Defence Standard 42-40 at 3% concentration. The
expansion will vary depending on the performance
characteristics of the equipment used. When tested to
DEF 42-40 at 3% concentration, the expansion will be at
least 7:1 (normally 8:1) with a 25% drainage time of
not less than 6.5 minutes (normally 7.0 minutes).
Environment
Fomtec FP 3% Plus is biodegradable. It does not contain
any harmful synthetic surfactants or glycol ethers.
Proportioning
Fomtec FP 3% Plus can easily be proportioned at the
correct dilution using conventional foam proportioning
equipment such as:
--
Inline inductors
--
Balanced pressure, variable flow proportioning systems.
--
Bladder tanks
--
Around the pump proportioning systems
--
Water turbine driven foam proportioners
--
Self inducting branch pipes and nozzles.

ARC 1x3 UL
Fomtec ARC 1x3 UL is intended for use on class B
hydrocarbon fuel as well as on polar solvent i.e.
Isopropanol, Methanol etc and other foam destroy-ing
product fires such as MTBE. It can be used with both
aspirating and non-aspirating discharge devices. It is
compatible with all dry chemical powders
Description
Fomtec ARC 1x3 is an ultra efficiency multi purpose film forming foam
(1x3). The main advantage of Fomtec ARC 1x3 is the 1%
induction ratio on hydrocarbon fires and 3% on polar
solvents.
The film forming characteristics of Fomtec ARC 1x3 means that it spreads
rapidly across a fire. As a result, it is highly
effective against hydrocarbon fires and with the
addition of special polymers it is also highly effective
against polar solvents The low surface tension of the
water foam concentrate solution enables the aqueous
film, although heavier than the burning liquid, to float
on top of the hydrocarbon liquid surface.
When applied on polar solvents a polymeric membrane makes it possible
for the foam blanket to
extinguish effectively. This works also on foam destroying liquids such
as MTBE.
Fomtec ARC 1x3 should be used at 1% proportioned solution on regular
hydrocarbon fires and 3% on polar solvents, in fresh or
seawater.
Application
Fomtec ARC 1x3 is intended for use on class B hydrocarbon fuel as well
as on polar solvent i.e. Isopropanol, Methanol etc and
other foam destroying product fires such as MTBE. It
uses only 1/3 the quantity to extinguish regular
hydrocarbon fires in comparison to traditional 3X3 foam
concentrates and only 3% on polar solvent fires. It can
be used with both aspirating and non-aspirating
discharge devices. It is compatible with all dry
chemical powders.
Typical Performance
Fomtec ARC 1x3 has been designed to give the best properties of -
Aqueous film forming foam. - Alcohol resistant foam. The
fire performance of Fomtec ARC 1x3 has been tested
according to EN1568 part 3 & 4.
Proportioning
Fomtec ARC 1x3 can easily be proportioned at the correct dilution using
conventional equipment such as: Inline inductors.
Balanced pressure, variable flow proportioning systems.
Bladder tanks. Around the pump proportioning systems.
Water turbine driven foam proportioners. Self inducting
branch pipes and nozzles. The equipment should be
designed to the foam type.
Packaging
We supply Fomtec in 25 litre cans and 200 litre drums. We can also ship
in 1000 litre containers or in bulk.
International Approvals:
--
EN 1568 part 3 and 4.
--
Lloyds Register of Shipping.
AFFF 3% Plus
Fomtec AFFF 3% Plus is intended for use on class B
hydrocarbon fuel fires such as oil, diesel and aviation
fuels. It can be used with both aspirating and
non-aspirating discharge devices. Fomtec AFFF 3% Plus is
especially suited whenever rapid fire knock-down is
essential. It is compatible with all dry chemical
powders and can be used in powder/foam twin agent
systems
