Indonesian Chemical Factory Blast Kills Five, Injures 46
Five people were killed and 46 injured on July 10 after an explosion started a huge fire in a chemical factory outside the Indonesian capital Jakarta, police said.
The plant was owned by a local subsidiary of Japanese cosmetics maker Mandom Corp, and the incident reportedly happened during working hours.
Of the injured, more than half suffered burns to more than 70% of their bodies, Jakarta police sources said. Police have deployed a forensics team to investigate the cause of the blast.
