Two Dead In Petrobras Brazil Fuel Depot Blast
An explosion rocked a Petrobras fuel depot at Brazil’s Port of Tubarão on Wednesday and left two workers dead.
According to Reuters, the blast occurred at a heating unit located at a fuel depot for ocean-going ships near Vitória, Brazil.
The explosion sparked a fire while workers were conducting planned maintenance on the heating unit.
On-site firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control.
No spills have been reported.
The names of the deceased workers have not been disclosed yet.
BR Distribuidora, the fuel distribution unit of state-owned Petrobras, told Reuters that the accident does not present an immediate risk to anyone near the site.
