philippinesPhilippines – Valenzuela – 3 Injured After Fire Hits Chemical Storage

Three workers were injured, two of them critically, after fire broke out at warehouse storing chemicals in Valenzuela City Friday morning.

A loud explosion was heard at the warehouse around 10 a.m. in Barangay Veinte Reales, followed by fire that quickly spread to an adjacent warehouse of textiles and cardboard boxes and a junk shop. The impact of the fire threw several drums of chemicals into the air.

Fire fighters had difficulty containing the huge blaze because of the thick black smoke billowing from the burning structure owned by a certain Gary So.

The fire reached task force Alpha wherein fire fighters were called in from surrounding cities.

The fire was declared under control at around 3 p.m.

Officials of the Bureau of Fire Protection are still determining the cause of the fire and cost of damage to property.
