Det-Tronics Eagle Quantum Premier® (EQP) Fire And Gas-Safety Controller Now Has An Ethernet/Modbus TCP/IP Interface Board (EIB) Option

The Det-Tronics Eagle Quantum Premier® (EQP) fire- and gas-safety controller now has an Ethernet/Modbus TCP/IP interface board (EIB) option, allowing the controller to communicate with other devices via the Local Area Network (LAN) and remotely via the internet.

The EQP controller is a flexible, distributed intelligence safety system that provides flame and gas detection, alarm signaling, fault notification and extinguishing agent release control. It integrates component communications on a reliable, fault-tolerant, digital network. Unlike many other fire and gas controllers, the EQP controller is rated for installation in hazardous Class 1/Division 2 and Class 1/Zone 2 locations. It is certified to ANSI/NFPA 72 National Fire Alarm code.

The EIB option expands the communication capability of the EQP controller, which has long supported ControlNet™, RS-232 Modbus RTU and RS-485 Modbus RTU protocols. Being able to communicate using the popular Ethernet Modbus TCP/IP protocol will allow customers to easily integrate a variety of devices such as SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition), DCS (Distributed Control Systems), and HMI (Human Machine Interface) devices with one or more EQP systems. The EIB option enhances the flexibility of the EQP controller by allowing it to operate as a Server or Client in a multiple server, multiple client environment.
