Kuwait – KNPC controls limited Refinery Fire

KUWAIT, Jan 15 (KUNA) — The Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) has controlled a very limited fire at the heavy oil unit of the Al-Shuaiba refinery.

“The fire has been put under control at a record time of 30 minutes,” Spokesman for the KNPC Khaled Al-Asousi told KUNA, commenting on the fire which took place early morning.

There were no casualties, but only some limited damage was caused, he said, adding that production at the refinery’s heavy oil unity would resume in a few hours’ time.
