Two workers were injured in a gas leak and fire in one of the units of the Visakha refinery of the HPCL here on Thursday evening.
The workers were admitted to a private hospital and their condition is stable, according to sources.
HPCL sources said the unit was shut down as a precautionary measure and the incident was being investigated into.
The fire was brought under control within an hour.
A spokesman for the company said that the in-house fire company brought the fire under control using fire fighting foam and an “aggressive” monitor attack.
This was both a static foam attack and a vehicle based foam attack.
No injuries were reported.
