refinery-on-fire Stock Picture (Stock Picture)Officials at the American Refining Group Inc. confirmed that a fire broke out at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday at the facility’s Crude Unit in the North Kendall Avenue area.

Sara Furlong, spokesperson for ARG, said no one was injured in the incident and the refinery’s internal emergency response team was able to quickly suppress the fire.

Furlong said the Bradford City Fire Department was called out for assistance, but the fire had been extinguished before firefighters could arrive. The refinery’s operations continued without interruption, she added.

“We are thankful to report that no one was injured,” said Jeannine Schoenecker, ARG president and chief operating officer.

In addition to the city fire department, a unit from Salamanca (N.Y.) Fire Department was called out, but returned to its station a short time later.
