texas pipeline blastResidents in a rural part of DeWitt County, Texas were ordered to evacuate their homes on Sunday night after a natural gas pipeline rupture set off a massive blaze.

A spokesperson with the DeWitt County Emergency Operations Center told Fox News that an Energy Transfer Partners pipeline ruptured around 8 p.m. near Lindenau, about 85 miles southeast of San Antonio.

“It was a big boom, and it shook the house,. You can feel the heat. … It was pretty intense,” local resident Roger Zimmerman told Fox News.

No injuries have been reported and the gas has been routed away from the ruptured line.

According to Fox News, firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze around midnight on Monday.

Residents will be permitted to return to their homes once safety inspections have been finished.

Texas-based Energy Transfer Partners said it is investigating the cause of the accident.
