China: 6 Killed in Coal Mine Blast

Six miners trapped in a coal mine after a blast in south-west China’s Yunnan province were confirmed dead on Wednesday.

The explosion in Shaba Coal Mine occurred Wednesday morning in Yanjin County, local officials said, according to the official Xinhua news agency.

It was not clear how many people were injured or trapped. Authorities were investigating the cause of the accident, Xinhua said.
