India – Blast Kills One And Injures 11 At Chemical Factory In Gujarat
One person died and 11 others were injured following an explosion caused by a short-circuit at Survival Technologies’ chemical factory in Ankleshwar, Gujarat, India.
According to Ankleshwar Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) police, a chemical barrel containing 4-Hydroxybenzoic acid exploded on Monday when a weighing scale short circuited.
“Police have identified the dead worker as Mohammad Zahid Hussain, who worked and lived at the factory.”
Of the 11 injured, three are reported to be in a serious condition.
Labourers at the factory were weighing chemical barrels in the company’s manufacturing unit when the incident occured.

According to the police, the workers who were seriously injured were Lalan Paswan, Mitesh Vasani and Prakash Paswan. The remaining eight workers sustained minor injuries.
