Iran – One killed, Six Injured In Refinery Fire
An explosion and fire at the Abadan refinery and petrochemical complex on June 28 killed one and injured a further six, according to the Iranian news agency Tasnim.
One of the injured is reported to be in critical condition. The Abadan refinery is Iran’s oldest crude processing facility and is situated in the country’s oil-rich Khuzestan Province.
The refinery, like most Iranian oil and gas processing plants, needs major renovation work after years of international sanctions against the country, according to Al Jazeera and other agencies.
